There are times when inexperienced users ask themselves why there is no space left on a disk partition. Free space does not magically disappear, but it is used by temporary files, caches and other non vital data. If you don't perform regular cleaning tasks, they will pile up and you can find yourself with only a few megabyte of free space and a simple task, like playing a movie, will take forever. This can be avoided with WinSysClean X2. It will find and erase any trace data left behind by uninstalled software, web browsers or by the system itself.

The software will work without any problems on Windows 2003 and higher. Installing it on your computer may take a bit longer than expected, but the wait is worth it. The setup package is almost 18 Mb large and the featured wizard will remind you of the Windows XP installation process. There are different steps, displayed on a column, on the left side of the window, and you will be prompted for an e-mail address, among other things. Fortunately, the whole process will not take too long.

Your system's status will be displayed on the main area of the interface. A series of lists and graphs will illustrate basic system information, the number of temporary files and their total size, the number of items in the recycle bin, used RAM and disk space and Registry size. Incorrect Windows shutdowns, along with their time frames, will also be displayed here. In order to specify what kind of data to delete, you must switch between different view modes on the main area of the interface. This is done with the aid of buttons, found on a column, on the left part of the window. Depending on which one you click, you can access different sets of options. Using nothing but check boxes, you can target a wide range of trace data (logs files, invalid desktop shortcuts, caches, and more), left by the system, MS Office or third party applications. It is possible to remove invalid or broken Registry items, also with the aid of check boxes.

Other buttons will display options for targeting data left by web browsers, such as Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera and Safari. The program can delete cache folders, cookies, URL and downloads history, which are saved on your hard drive by the browsers. It is also possible to target caches, logs or message archives saved by Yahoo Messenger or Skype.

A series of buttons, on the lower edge of the interface will launch WinSysClean X2's main functions. Besides the cleanup feature, you can also access a manager for startup programs, a disk defragmenter or a standard programs uninstaller. The main cleanup feature can be started by clicking a play button in the lower right corner of the interface. After a thorough process, a report will be displayed, with details such as recovered disk space, fixed Registry errors or the number of removed files. The time it takes to complete the cleaning process depends on what items you target. Regardless of how long it takes, you will certainly free up disk space and make your computer run faster.

Pros

WinSysClean X2 lets you erase a wide range of non critical data which can clog up your hard drive in time. It also features additional tools which will help you keep your computer running smoothly.

Cons

The software's installation wizard will prompt the user for too much information. With WinSysClean X2's flexible features, you can clear more disk space than with standard cleaning tools. With its additional tools, you will have everything you need to keep your computer healthy.
